Twitter Round-Up For 11-7-20
LP voters are usually won’t vote for either party. They are activated by having someone on their ballot that represents their beliefs. A small percentage of their votes are from Rs and Ds and they draw from each evenly. Cato has done research on this and it’s in exit polls yearly https://t.co/TkUPzEinSv

The opposite happened in 2017 and we were fine. When Obama was elected, this same group didn’t think he was born here. We got through it. https://t.co/ApvcJhenrr

How I’m going to sleep this weekend knowing that my principled vote for Jo Jorgensen was a waste, a protest, and, somehow, a vote for Biden or Trump in various states.
I voted Libertarian in Arizon.
Trump didn't earn my vote because
1. Bailout/Stimulus support
2. Vaccine support
3. Tariffs
4. FED expansion
5. Divisive
6. War
While I am much closer to right economics versus left, this doesn't mean I will sacrifice who I am morally for MY vote
Republican women in the suburbs are sinking Trump in Arizona. It’s not fraud. He was a bad candidate. https://t.co/gcsYxQrRDz
The AZ - abc15 - Data Guru @Garrett_Archer
That time the #Pennsylvania AG Josh Shapiro’s son walked into the shot and reminded us all parents are in the same boat in 2020! 😂
Consider this: If Joe Biden wants a Secretary of Education, the Treasury, or Labor, he's going to have to pick someone to the right of Merrick Garland.
I’ve been thinking about something Rick Santorum said on CNN today. Essentially, he thinks Republicans around Trump are going with the voter fraud canard and leaders are being quiet to give him time to emotionally process losing so he goes quietly.
Awfully telling that both the right and left media I consume is being dominated by “democracy is dead” narratives even though both Repubs and Dems are walking away with significant wins. They want total power or nothing.
Just a friendly reminder that the @GOP blocked 3 election security bills, now they want to cry foul.
Multiple reports claim if Trump loses, he is considering launching a "Trump TV" to fight Fox News, and plans to take Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and others with him.
I doubt he has one. Mainly due to the pandemic but also to save face for Trump, who will not attend. Pence will go in his place. https://t.co/RdAL1AghRF

I can't imagine letting a politician affect my emotional state to this level. https://t.co/eY7QIAeH8B

"This is no longer about any single election"
Josh Wingrove @josh_wingrove
Trump is so deep into Alex Jones territory that it makes Santorum and Romney look like rational figures.
Mitt Romney @MittRomney
If you're on the left, remember how this felt? They're feeling that now and you can choose not to tap dance on the grave right now. If you do, moralizing later when there is a reaction will cause lost credibility and regret. For the right, please give us gifs with your con tears.
Folks, it's over. And the truth is that it wasn't close. The illusion of a nail-biter process was simply an artifact of counting most of Biden's votes after Trump's because of mail in voting. And that delay was part of Trump's effort to cue up bogus claims of fraud to steal it.
He isn’t wrong... but the President built a movement based on tears politics and there’s not much sympathy for him or his supporters as a result. They want a kid gloves when on the receiving end of how they treat others. https://t.co/ddTeyCQfFT
Kathy Benjamin @KathyBenjamin
But... Someone has to de-escalate. Someone has to choose to take down the temperature. It is not going to be Trump. Is it going to be the side that pretended to be the moral good for the past five years? It has to be or it won't get better.
Who are they kidding with this BS? https://t.co/htEMYDyrZm
Jake Sherman @JakeSherman
Tensions are high and it is mostly due to rhetoric and not concrete evidence. Billboard material and grandstanding will only inflame the losing side. You can't preach decorum and do anything but show it.
Seth Hettena @seth_hettena
GOP internals showed the same things. This is just a conspiracy theory.
Riva @rivatez
Something I wish I would have done 4 years ago: If you’re a young woman in the liberty movement and you’ve been harassed on a campaign, my DMs are open. If you feel uncomfortable working for an org or politician after this election, DMs are open. I’m speaking to you as a friend.
I’ve been thinking how very different this outcome might have been if Trump handled the pandemic very competently and simply had more discipline in the last few months.
So it begins... Trump will run again in 2024, but he has a lot of lawsuits and charges to fight between then and now.
Reuters @Reuters
Learn how the Electoral College works and how PA, GA, NV, and AZ appoint them. Journalists should be on the ground in force on December 18. Trump will fight the certification of results in these states to seat different electors.
Allison Carter @AllisonLCarter
I deeply disapproved of both major party candidates, so I’ve just been over here rooting for a divided government.
As a friend recently said to me, gridlock is the second best political outcome to liberty.
Who gets to tell Trump it is over and how many times will they re-draw the straws? Best two out of three?
In an interview this week with @adamwren, Sen. Todd Young said "every single American vote, Republican, Democrat, independent, and so forth needs to be counted."
They really think prosperity gospel is gonna change those votes in their favor.
shoe @shoe0nhead
Now that he lost, he is going to fire a ton of people and end a lot of regulations (and possibly agencies) out of spite. So that's good.
My guess is that Trumpworld is leaking this anger at Fox to lay the groundwork for his TV network that Kushner is privately floating. It is nonsensical to be this angry at Fox for calling Arizona after all of the polls closed. It had no effect on the race.
This is weirdly good for Fox News. The news side has been floating more and more centrist to capture the audience from CNN. Shedding the Alex Jones wing of the right and positioning more center-right may help them more than it hurts.
“The surrogate said that Trump surrogates, in the absence of official messaging and direction, have been sharing amongst themselves a tweet thread from Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly Strassel...”
Yes the Democrats massively coordinated a steal for the election while allowing Mitch McConnell to remain in control of a Republican majority senate and even conceded house seats.
What a ploy. Here comes the unfettered socialism. 🙄
the thing you learn as a libertarian over time is that you please no one and everyone hates you and everything is your fault but they weirdly respect you
This is the tell that the Republican Party is not following Ben Sasse. It is going the way of Tom Cotton. Why? Donald Trump and Alex Jones are now the soul of the GOP and these spineless politicians know it.
Josh Marshall @joshtpm
One problem with the theory of mass fraud, besides implausibility at a certain level of coordination, is that Republicans won Senate seats in states he lost and gained in the House. The election returns look a lot less like fraud and a lot more like fatigue.
A lot of voters are too low-information to intelligently cast a vote and it is ironically the people supporting voter suppression.
To boil this down: President Trump is embracing mail-in votes in Arizona and Nevada, but blasting them as fraudulent and rigged in Pennsylvania. That is all you need to know about this argument.
Good reminder that Georgia, one of the states Trump maliciously lied about regarding the conduct of its election, is run entirely by Republicans, who are ensuring a fair and accurate count of the vote cast.

I don’t need to hear Republicans condemn Trump. You don’t get credit for waiting until it no longer matters to criticize him for being who he’s always been. Be the obsequious cowards we know you are. You’re team flailing turtle, now and forever. And the world is laughing at you.
"Pennsylvania could have averted some of this mess by changing its law to allow mail-in ballots to be counted prior to the election. Republicans in the state legislature refused to do so."
On CNN, the Allegheny County Executive said that “even the Libertarian Party is allowed to come in and watch the counting of votes. Anyone is allowed in.”
"Voters in CALIFORNIA rejected affirmative action, decisively shot down an expansion of rent control and eviscerated a law that gives greater labor protections for ride-share and delivery drivers, a measure that had the strong backing of labor unions."
@exjon @snarkandboobs The sitting president saying it to stay in power feels different than people whining about why they aren’t.
